EDITORIAL ASSISTANT
Octopus Publishing Group, part of Hachette Livre, the ’s largest publisher, requires a dynamic Editorial Assistant to offer administrative and editorial support to the non fiction popular culture imprint Cassell Illustrated.
Reporting to the Cassell Illustrated publisher and working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration of a list of approximately 20 books a year. Dealing with authors, enquiries from the public, running our internal systems, payment of invoices and updating of schedules. Cassell publishes a wide range of books from the bestselling 1001 series to Tv tie-ins such as Property Ladder and biographies like Beg, Steal and Borrow – the officlal Babyshambles Story.

UK Sales Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to assist the UK sales team and to offer administrative support. This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK Sales Team at Octopus Publishing Group working on imprints across the group.
You will be required primarily to work closely with the UK Key Account Director and Sales Support Manager to manage UK stock, co-ordinate reprints, and maintain internal stock systems. You will also liaise with customers to process orders and returns and other general enquiries, as well as working with the team and territory managers to prepare materials for meetings and follow up.
Candidates should be hardworking, organized and meticulous with good communication and numerical skills, and be computer literate in both Excel and PowerPoint.

Sales and Publishing Assistant – Bounty
Bounty Books are looking for an energetic and organised administrator to join their successful team publishing a list of promotional books from the Octopus Publishing Group backlist and the bestselling original 501 titles.
You will be working at the heart of a small imprint and reporting to the Publishing and International Sales Director and working closely with the Key Accounts Manager, therefore giving an excellent opportunity for somebody keen to gain their first job in publishing and get an overview of the whole publishing process by working as a support to both Editorial and Sales.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, hardworking and outgoing with the ability to multi-task and communicate confidently with external clients. You will need to be a dependable and enthusiastic team player with a great deal of initiative, a keen eye for detail, an excellent command of the English language, the ability to work autonomously and strong IT skills.
If you have a keen interest in book publishing and fulfil the above requirements then you will be rewarded with a varied role in a friendly team that will give you the experience and skills needed to further your career in publishing.
