Octopus Publishing Group have a policy of not passing on your personal data to other organisations, websites or third parties, for promotional purposes. We undertake to handle the information that we collect from you securely and to comply with all current Data Protection legislation.
How we use personal information
We collect personal information when you register on the Octopus Publishing Group website, when you join the Miller’s Antiques Club or Mitchell Beazley Wine Club, and when you make a purchase from the website. The information is used by us, and by our distributor Littlehampton Book Services, to enable us to process and deliver your order. Credit card numbers are used only for payment processing and are not retained for other purposes. Any extra details you provide about your interests may also be used to send you offers which we feel will be of particular interest to you, if you have consented to such contact. By registering your details on our website, you consent to Octopus Publishing Group maintaining, recording, holding and using personal data we collect about you.
We will disclose elements of your data to our service providers for the purposes set out in this policy. We may search the files of credit reference agencies, who will record the search.
We may transfer the data to other companies in the Hachette UK Ltd group of companies in the event of a restructure or reorganisation. We will not sell or rent to third parties the information collected from you on this site except in the event that Octopus Publishing Group or LBS is sold to a new owner, in which case your details will be transferred to that new owner.
